Default New motor Q's

I got my motor back last night and its going in tonight. i just wanted to double check intervals for oil change and head stud retourqing after breakin?
when shopuld i change the breakin oil and when should i retourqe the head studs? i was told like the day after i drive it dfor a little. ?is this true?

Wouldn't this apply more to when you are boosting? I don't see how the headbolts would stretch with normal driving if they were torqued to specs the first time. I could be wrong.

they would stretch and "relax" from the heating and cooling of the engine.


also, id change the oil and filter after about 500 miles. than its back to normal..3000 mile oil change, unless you really abuse the car. than id have to say 2000 or less miles

i abuse the car wuite a bit , but i was curious baout letting the break in oil out, i was told to retq the headbolts after like 24 hrs, and change the oil a few days after.

Pete, I said to retorque the studs if you put the head on and didnt run the car yet. Let the motor stand over night and then re-torque, and then finish asembling the head then pop it in the car.

ohhhhhhh, that makes more sence now. phew, i didnt want to have to pull the valve cover again.
i guess it was too late in the night for me to conprehend what you were saying ? i was just to excited to get it running lol.
