new headgasket install not working?
last night it was freezing and me and a friend put a headgasket on everything seemed fine but it was smoking....we thought it was coolant but wasnt sure cause it was freezing at night. so this morning i started it and its not smoking (its hotter now and not as cold as last night)....but for some reason a whitish film was forming underneith the oil fill cap.....i thought it was coolant mixing with oil but if its mixing there it will mix on the dip stick and its not...dip stick looks normal...also if its leaking into the combustion chamber wont i have low comp? we did a comp check last night and it was perfect.....im confused...what could the film be?

if the headgasket before was leaking , then it can be a leftover mixture of th coolant and oil. try changing your oil. btw did you get the head resurfaced? it may be warped. also, i had 270 comp across my motor with a blown head gasket, so just because it has good compression doesnt mean it isnt blown
update.....i forgot to say the head is BRAND NEW just left the machine shop....surface is fine and everything...block was decked 2500 miles ago....i just remembered....when i got the head i noticed white grease inside the head around the valve and valve seals (i could also see it while looking into the ports) im thinking that once i started it the grase is just mixxing with the oil cause it kinda looks like the grease but not as thick im guessing the oil thinned it out.....cause even as i rev it it doesnt smoke....
