New Best E.T!!!
Me and Terry (incognito) went to Atco, NJ to get some runs in my car. I wanted to run 11's in my car since Terry ran an 11.97 two months ago and my best was a 12.00 this past weekend at Island Dragway, NJ.
To make a long story short:
Terry again ran my car, he ran a 12.00, 11.96, then an 11.80. The deal was (since he paid for my car to race) if he hit 11's twice, I would get a turn to run my car. By then it was 10pm and the staging lanes was closed and there was one more pass left. I ran the last pass, and busted an 11.85@117.9. I could not believe it. Terry's e.t was still faster, but I was glad I ran 11's in my car.
I think this is it for my car....I don't think I can push my stock motor any harder, unless maybe I can get an Inline Pro head gasket, and boost a little more.
At Atco, I was boosting at 10.5 psi. Just slightly higher than before (10psi).

The motor is stock. It's a 96 head and a 95 block. I blew my 96 block in the beg. of the season (cracked piston #3).
For fuel...I have 450cc Venom injectors, Super FMU and fuel rail, holley in tank fuel pump, and a VAFC.

Paul. Youre COOOOL. That is fasttttt for a stock motor. Want to go to atco with me on the saturday right after thanksgiving? youre a stock motor superstar
haha. good stuff paul

haha. good stuff paul
Congratulations to Paul. Finally hit 11's
MPH was very impressive (117.9MPH). Even more impressive is that it was done in a totally stock motor.
I hope I can crack MPH like that soon

Geoff,
Atco last night was only $12 to run compared to E-town, $20 to run and you only get 3 passes there. I will def. go with you to Atco during Thanks Giving weekend. A couple of my friends will prob. go. Terry is always down. I still got your home number, so I will give you a call on that Friday.
Terry,
Remember you are hitting 117 mph at only 9.5 psi, who knows what you can do at 15 psi. I guess we will find out tonight at E-Town.

Paul, no E-town for me tonight. Got a dinner to go to
Guess I'd have to wait for the weekend.
Think my setup will hold 15psi? (Shooting for the 120MPH mark)

I'll be at Englishtown this weekend. Being that the event is bracket racing, I might be bringing the all motor ITR and not the Civic. But then again, payout is better for the 12.49 and under class, and the R isn't running 12.49, yet.
Geoff, I ask about the 15psi because the LS blocks don't have a girdle. Think it'll still hold? I know Dr. Boost's LS motor holds (I think he runs 14psi or something). I'm trying to run 15psi.

ThanksGuys....I got alot of help from my friends. They sure come in handy...hahaha...j/k.
As for Sun. at E-Town NJ, I will be there but have to leave early. Hopefully the motor is still runnin by then. Im not trying to boost hard now, but it's so hard to resist.

Good, I am glad to hear that. I hope tedy will be able to make it to etown sunday. On another note, dr. boost's car will be ready to run hard sunday with a few minor changes in our setup. I will look for u sunday so we can all park together and bs. LOL

A few minor changes in the setup? hehe Think we're gonna get kicked out on Sunday?
Still not sure what car to run. The R is more consistent, but the Civic is faster, which means more $$$ payout if I win.
(might also do a minor change or 2 in the Civic)

Hey Terry --
I think your motor will take the 15 psi. I know it doesnt have a girdle, which does compromise overall bearing life, but what size bearings are you running? Did you go loose? Two summers ago, Emad was running an LSvtec at 22 psi with a 60-1. And the only reason he lost his motor was b/c he had a valve drop (used a bone stock GSR head with old retainers). So i would say bump it up to 15 and if yorue feelin lucky go for 18 psi. Just be weary of your fuel setup... make sure there is enough pulse width.
just make *sure* that you are retarding ignition timing enough!! cracking sleeves just sucks.

Oh I know way too much about cracking sleeves. I broke a few blocks in my GSR back in the day when it was turboed.
I'm gonna run 15psi on the 370cc injectors and see what happens. If I'm close to where I want to be, I'll bump it up to 18psi with 550cc injectors. I have them both already, so I guess we'll see what happens. On the bearings, I probably should have went loose, but didn't.
