I can see how that would be true.I'm going to put a turbo on my 92 accord sometime this spring.Iwant to tune with crome
But ever since I've never tuned a car before I'm going to have Raceline here in Cincinatti Help out with the tune.

not a big fan of his work!!??? id like to hear what your basing that off of! have you ever seen the dyno plots/feedback from the people Jeff tuned cars for?? you are the first person i have ever heard that had anything less than possitive thoughts to say about his work. if its apersonnal issue fine but its NOT his work cause the guy is a great tuner!

James has a good thing going and Neptune is something that should be on top of your list. Mess with James = I poop on you!

this post confuses the hell out of me.

it seems like everybody wants everything, but nobody wants to do anything about it.

VE junkie is going to hop on this thread and whine his *** off, and then say things without backing them up at all.

i'd also like to add-in, Andrea has a great point. APEXi PowerFC and the HKS F-Con, both require going to a certified shop, and only those shops will have the proper software to tune each program with. but there's no complaints for that.

there's a reason cars running without good engine management dont last. im not saying crome, uberdata, or anything else can't get you there. but you have to pay to play.

Actually, Power FC doesn't. I don't know anything about F-Con whatsoever.

Not that I'm whining one way or the other about Neptune... just contributing my annoying background buzz.

The reason is because that's a corporate deal, you can't just PM the president of those companies and explain your case, nor can they just change it with the flick of their wrist and a few phone calls. Also, neptune is seen more as a grassroots type EMS rather than a typical aftermarket EMS. People understand corporate decisions where they usually have a think tank come up with a cost-benifit solution deciding who can/can't tune, but I tend to doubt the Neptune people spent 10-30k on analysts/consultants to tell them what the perfect distribution number would be. Nobody would expect a small business to do so, mainly since small businesses can gauge & follow the market better because they don't have the mass volume of sales/serivces

I CAN'T agree with that, at least not about the EMS. There are just as many people who take a stock motor way beyond it's 'safe point' with Crome/Uber as there are people with blown up built motors on low boost with AEM due to tuner error. There have been a few 300-500 whp Crome and Uber people. I'll agree you need to pay for lots of extra features, but honestly - I'd expect that 90% of the Neptune/AEM users don't use more than 10% of the total features availible.

btw when I get the cash, I'll be using the Neptune RTP

until recently, wasn't the PowerFC only able to be tuned through a PowerExcel shop?

i respect what you're saying, but my comment "you have to pay to play" wasn't saying "you need to spend the most money to do anything". that's not how it was intended at all so i apologize if it was misleading. going back to what i said before, it just seems like everyone wants to do everything, but not spend anything for it.

i personally think that when NepTune RTP is released a lot of people will be very happy, obviously. me though, im much more comfortable a trained, knowledgeable tuner, in my case Jeff, take care of the tuning. i know there are people who are capable of doing it themself, and the more power to them.

If I didn't have to drive half way across the state OR into another state to get a good professional tune, I'd give the $600 for someone like Evans to tune it. But atm I'm saving up cash, don't have Evans, Tony1, Mace, etc in my back yard - so it's DIY time.

For the most part, midwest = for serious import tuning vs the coasts.
