Need your input on GRIMMSPEED BOOST CONTROLLER
Anybody here use the GRIMMSPEED boost controller? I've seen some reviews on their website but I want to know if it's better than turboxs boost controller.
It uses the MAC solenoid like anything else that people on this forum find popular.
A turbo XS controller is a manual controller. They act differently

I like it. It's a nice bleed off style unit with clear markings, and comes with all the legal disclaimers a good company should have.
This is a second place choice to the Hallman..
If you haven't tuned the car already, (no basemap!) Then this should only be installed on running day, and not a moment before.....

I'm running AEM v1 and I'm just swapping out the block with a sleeved block. I'm using turboxs MBC but I wanted to change it to something better and I found this one that has markings on it so I know how much more/less boost I'm giving it. Of course I'm going to get it retuned but can I put it on during my start up with the new block I'm putting in?

Hook it up and go. Stay within your tuned boost pressure ranges, and you're fine.
Retuning isn't necessary as boost pressure = boost pressure. If you ran 10psi on a turboXS, going to a Grimmspeed changes nothing. The only way a tune is necessary is if there was a terrible boost leak in the system the 1st time around.

I've had MANY manual boost controllers. the problem with the turboXS was that the control **** rotated on its own after a setting over a period of time.
Hallman, TurboXS, TurboSmart, Dejon Tool, etc. NONE have readable markings, and all work.
If you want to be sure you're at the right pressure, Use your boost gauge before and after your adjustments and don't just rely on a "click" with a number marking.
It's more convenient to have the markings, but not by that much because you can't compare it to what the boost gauge reads.
