Need turbo advice
so here's what i have.
96 b18c1 block with wiseco 9.7:1 - 81.5 mm pistons. eagle h beam rods. block guard main studs and head studs.
b16 head supertech everything. cams still to be determined but leaning towards pro 1's
im aiming for around 400 hp on stock sleeves
i know i want a gt series turbo. either a 30 or a 35. it will be driven on the street. anyone here with a similar setup or thoughts on a different turbo ?

Spooling fast and making top end power are two different things when it comes to 400whp. Being "driven on the street" doesn't describe anything. That's like saying you want "to eat food", when you really want a top sirloin steak; It says what you generally want to do, but nothing about the real purpose of this car. You're not describing HOW you want the power; no turbo can give responsiveness AND all-out top end power AND be under $XX AND be reliable. C'mon. Get specific.. get a budget, specific goals, what its really used for. This thread is going no where without that. and you'll just continue to get one word answers with no feedback.
theres no real budget this is just gonna be something fun to drive around. ill take it to the track eventually and ill get it sleeved once i go back to afghanistan. but for now i just want something with a smooth powerband and to mess around in. so id rather have it setup for street than straight drag. ive read your article on the reaper and it looks like its everything i need but i cant find where to buy it. im trying to learn as much as i can since ive been a vw guy my whole life and just recently getting into hondas. i could take it to a shop and have someone do all the work and make me a fast car but thats no fun. im trying not to be another douche bag that knows nothing about his car
That still doesn't mean you don't go to the pros to get some education and a bit of help. At least being from the VW crowd you're mechanically educated, but retrofitment of a turbocharger is as much art as it is science. Using that large of a turbocharger when not needed just gets you unhappy... and fast.
