Default NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!

All right guys, i got a problem iv been working on for the past 3 weeks... i have a 92 dx eg.. i swapped a 97 GS-R, and i got a T28 Turbo for it. For a while it was only doing 4 pounds, and staying stable at 4 pounds.. I thought it was a leak for the longest time.. fixed everywhere i could think... Then my friend pulled the vacuum line from the turbo to the wastegate, so theres no boost controller or vaccum line hooked up to the turbo or wastegate... and now im pushing 10 pounds.. and 10 pounds only, but only once vtec engages.. it goes 5 psi at 4000RPM, then vtec it goes 10psi.. but shouldnt the turbo be like going to umm 13 or 14 psi since the wastegate isnt connected?? i really need help
thanks

give it more than 40 mins to get a response ..... but it sounds like the internal gate is set at a low psi, when you pull the vac line off of it, it is taking it to the max psi that the spring will hold on its own.

What size spring is it?

Check the rod setting on the internal w/g. They are not always properly set. Vacumn would be the only that controls it and with it off, it will run what the rod is set at

ok i found out my rod is a 9psi rod.. so it stays 5 psi intel vtec (4700RPMS) then it shoots up to 10psi in no time.. i mean a small turbo should be full boost before vtec right? T28.. air research turbo, rebuilt with duel turbines i believe is what the kid said.. theres no shaft play at all.. got it right out from the shop.. and just having issues with it.. the kids gone, i dont know what shop he took it to.. so im lil screwed on taking it back lol..

so how would i know where to set the rod at?? or can i at all??

Thanks again..
i know lots of questions, but honda-tech is the best place for answers..

I am helping him out with this setup... How do I check the rod setting?? Do you mean check and see if it is closed? If that is the case I *think* it is closed but when the car is driving I can't check it anymore... Any ideas how to check this setting??
Thanks!
