Default Need opinion on amount of boost to run safely.

Some of you may have come across my thread about blowing my piston up. I cracked 3 pistons. Anyway, I am getting eagle rods and CP 9:1 pistons. Now that I have some forged internals, ARP headstuds, and stock sleeves, how much boost can I safely run? I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 14 psi. I want about 300 whp. I had 253.1 whp on my 9 psi with 10.2:1 compression. Can I run 14 psi on stock sleeves, tuned with hondata? Thanks for your input.

I came across your thread the other day. Nice numbers. Sucks that you cracked your pistons. I am in the process of turbocharging my car as well and also with a Drag kit on my 99 si. My friend with a white GS-R came to tune his car at church the same day you did. How exactly did you crack your pistons? Driving hard? Mis-shift? Any suggestions to make about turbo si's?

I am not sure how it cracked..i was on 9 psi with the VAFC, stock timing for a whle, so something could have happened with taht and then the power hondata made pushed it over the edge. I think I talked to your friend, he came in right after me. I love my turbo Si, I am getting new interneals and hoping to get 300 whp.

Damn must be fun boosting an si, can't wait to get mine back. Also, what else did u have? (what size exhaust, dp... etc.) I just want to know so I can take in all the variables and guesstimate my numbers, like comparing my setup to yours. Thanks. Also...should i not run 9psi? I was thinkin to run 8-9 but your story creeps me out.

Lets see this is my exact setup:
Drag Kit with Tial 38mm WG, Blitz DD BOV
2.5 inch downpipe to 3" carsound cat, 3" piping back to 3" magnaflow muffler
hondata s100b
RC 550cc injectors

Soon to come:
eagle rods
CP 9:1 pistons
ARP headstuds

dont get freaked out about my story....the problems occured when I was running the VAFC hack on 9 psi with stock timing. you will be fine with 8 or 9 psi on stock internals with hondata....but dont qoute me on that.

I belive u can run 14psi, altho i would talk to the tunner how much he belives u can run with your setup. my friend made 275whp at 14.7lbs with a 2.75in exhaust and a 8.8:1 compression i belive on his Si with a drag kit. after he blew the turbo he got a precission turbo and a 3in exhaust and at the same boost level made 300whp

But yea i now im scared to turbo my stock block with the kit kuz seems like everyones blowin there stock motors, and i only have the FMU and inline fuel pump still, heh
