Default In need of new pistons, but which ones?

I'm new to the whole Turbo world. I recently bought a DOHC ZC motor for my '91 HF. I'm planning on dropping in a turbo. My questions are as follows.

1. Which pistons would be good to use for 5-12 psi? To my understanding, the ZC has a cr of 9.6:1. I've heard on this board and others that when you boost, you should use lower compression on the motor.

2. Would it be better to use say 9.1 pistons and/or use thicker head gasket? Are there any drawbacks on the head gasket (i.e. bigger chance of blowing the gasket?)

3. Would a properly tuned turbo ZC pass smog inspection? with the motor being lower compression, would anything besides power output change if I were to turn the boost all the way down?

4. What kinds of setups are some of you running (if any of you are running turbo ZC's)?

I know these are newbie questions, but like I said I'm new to turbos and just want to get my facts straight before diving into the motor head first. I did a search and alot of the answers were a bit skewed. Thanks in advance.

If i were you i would see if cp makes an application for your motor, and if you are so keen on running 9:1 compression i would get pistons rated at that then getting 9:5 and using a a thick headgasket.

Contact Earl on this site, if cp makes one for your application.
