Default Need Input: Can vacuum, as opposed to boost, hurt a wastegate?

Someone mentioned that tial doesn't recommend subjecting their wastegates to a vacuum source that is behind the throttle plate.

I'm thinking vacuum won't really damage anything, especially on an internally-gated greddy turbo...but I thought I'd check to see if anyone else had input.

Thanks

I'm not sure how vacuum could damage the wastegate. Vacuum just allows the wastegate to be fully closed, boost is what opens the gate.
