need ideas on timing maps for turbo application
Hello, I've got a Zdynd Gold ECU that I have tuned to a state of perfection with the fuel maps. I've got a ZC with a Greddy kit at 8psi and have never had any detonation. My egt is 1200F when cruising at 80mph and only gets cooler when I give it more throttle. It gets high because the ECU is running in open loop. ( I think, I always get closed loop and open loop confused.)
Anyway, I've wondered if I can advance my timing some and be ok. Maybe in the N/A part of the maps would be alright. I just don't know much about tuning the timing maps since all I have is an egt guage to judge by. I know if I got a knock sensor I could have a lot of fun but they are expensive.
Does anybody have a clue? Thanks, Matt

Im running the same set up you are only I have a custom kit and a LS. I say get a J&S if your gonna start adding timing at the least ... mine is on its way. Or get it to a dyno w/ a wideband.
B.T.W its closed loop when your cruising
