Need help with Turbo malfunction
Take a look at this pic. Any comments on how this could have occurred? Thanks for your comments. BTW. the turbo is a DBB, with oil and coolant no problems with the lines.

Re: Need help with Turbo malfunction (beepy)
no, I had a 4 in intake pipe with a KN filter on the turbo. When I checked the shaft it was loose and had excessive play. The damage was uniform which would justify there was no foreign object in the inlet...

What brand of turbo was it?
Did you have oil going into it? With that much bearing damage there should be oil everywhere.

Looks as if the turbo compressor housing came loose when the fins were spinnning. I suggest you check and see if the bolts/ c-ring that holds on the compressor is loose.

I checked the compressor housing and that was secure. No oil spill and oil pressure and temp was fine. The only noticeable defect was the shaft with excessive play.

Re: Need help with Turbo malfunction (si2die4)
its a garrett gt30R. The oil feed is fine. I have an oil pressure sending unit tee off from the oil feed and there was constant oil pressure at all times via pressure guage inside. Oil return is also good. I double check for any leaks or kinks. Garrett has been great with assisting me through this situation and I am switch out the turbo tomorrow.
