Default need help on turbo

I am new on this site. I have a b20vtec eg hatch. The bottom end is built with eagle rods, pistons, and crank. Has b16 head with gsr stage 1 cams, Type R intake manifold, type r header, jdm vtec selonoid, type r oild pump, gsr tranny with centerforce stage 2 clutch, b&m short shifter, and a few others but those are the main parts. I am lookin to boost it. It has had nitrous on it before and I just want to boost instead of spraying. I am new to the whole turbo deal tho so I am wondering if anybody can help me out. I found a turbo kit on turbokits.com for around 3100. Does anybody know where I can get a good turbo kit for cheaper or any ideas on what all I would need to build one myself? I am looking to only push around 8-9 lbs on it and I am already tuned with hondata s300 so I wouldnt need any kind of ecu upgrade would i? I can do all the turbo tuning throu the s300 right? Please just give me some ideas or if anybody has a kit for sell feel free to tell me ha Thanks in advanced guys

Read the FAQ at the top of the forum. Also, dont base your goals in terms of PSI. If you want to be safe on your stock block, stay around the 300whp range. The pressure needed to get there will depend on the turbo you choose and the VE of your setup. Yes, you can do all of your tuning on the S300

3100 is a very good range to pay.

Well the block really aint stock. Its got full forged internals. The only thing I want to do to it is get it sleeved. I am actually thinkin about going with a jackson racing sc setup. I was just going to put the bottle back on it but thats just to much hassel having to buy new spark plugs every so often and gettin the bottle filled, making sure that all your stuff is good before u use it.

Looks like you need to figure out what you really want to do first. SC, Turbo, or Nitrous, don't all use the same parts. Figure that out first, read how turbocharging works, then get back to us with some definitive goals.

I know how turbos work...Im not that big of a noob. I've been around cars and boosted cars plenty just havent built a boosted one myself. I have set my mind on a turbo which i will prolly get around the end of next month after i get back from being in the field for a month and have a good amount of money saved up. I am lookin at the peakboost top mount turbo kit. Do you know how good that kit is? I am lookin for hp range around 350-400

its fine. a topmount isn't necessary, but its fine, as long as it is tuned well. that is most important.
