need help shop pin??
idk if this is correct but i was wondering if i have to shop pin my pistons for my stock rods?? i have mahle pistons with my stock rods i was planning to use and my friend said i have to shop pin i think he said??? is this true, can i use the pins that mahle sent me? thanks its a h22 for boost but i was planning to run only 10lbs com 9:1

you will need to have your rod setup for a full floating pin such as th mahle or any aftermarket piston setup.
shot peening has nothign to do with how you set the pin in the piston however take it to machine shop that knows what they are doing and have them put on correctly.

It would help definely since you are going boost, but you dont really have to. Shot peening i believe makes the rods stronger. but im not a 100 percent though.

shot peening uses an abrasive steel shot to smooth out the surface of the rod, eliminating areas that can crack due to stress. if you need to have the rods bushed for floaters, dont wast money on stockers. just get a good set already ready to go.

yup i agree dont waste your time on stock rods ditch them eagles and others are very affordable and allready come bushed ready to use any full floating wrist pin.
