need help!! searched, turbo timer/alarm/starter
I've already searched and I didn't know where this would go since this is unique(maybe).
anyway over the past 2 years I can say that I've gone through at least 20 starters. about a starter a month. OK my thing is this. I installed a turbo timer I got my alarm put in also 2 years ago.
turbo timer works great!!! but sometimes it won't start up anymore. I've already checked the starter relay and while a freind of mine was rotating the key to start checking voltage at the starter itself, which gave us a measly 6volts
I then thought that maybe I can fix the problem by putting a pushbutton start because maybe the ignition had something to do with it but the problem still exist. my battery is got damn new, Optima RED TOP, so I am still in the buisness of troubleshooting this if anyone has ideas.
summary:::
-changed starter at least 20 times, they work for a couple months and then crapout.
-checked starter relay
-turbo timer works 5.0
-wired in pushbutton start, courtesy of thinking ignition was bad
-clutch switch works 5.0
-new optima battery relocated to rear with 0 gauge wire, grounded to rear
-ground from mounting bolt on starter to chassis
-ground to radiator support
-Perma-cool fans turn on with ignition key
I'm all out of ideas, like I said this has been going on for like 2 years so I am tired of switching out starters. and for you guys that relocated your battery, did you run the ground to the front of the vehicle or did you ground it in the back?any help will be appreciated guys, Tony
