my car threw a 7 code for the throttle position sensor and i think, a 17 code for the VSS. so, if i replaced my TPS, does that automatically stop the ECU from throwing that code again or would i have to reset the ECU to stop the CEL from coming on again?

 

I would reset the ECU.

reset it to be on the safe side...not really a big deal regardless. reset it anyway so it can re-adjust

 

Codes are kept in memory, you want to reset it to clear it.
