need help please.....fully built b18c5 making weird noise
i started up my car the other day and i heard this loud TOCK...TOCK....TOCK as i started up, but it went away soon after. now today i warm up my car and i notice this rattling sound coming from the engine when the revs are falling down. I reved it slightly from the engine bay and noticed the noise was coming from around cylinder #4. could this be a valve problem? needs adjusting?
my setup is as follows:
golden eagle sleeved b18c5
rollerwave pistons
eagle rods
ferrea super alloy valves, titanium springs and retainers
GSR Camshafts
Skunk 2 Adjustable Cam Gears
sc61 turbo
custom ramhorn manifold
custom downpipe and open exhaust

This is a little off topic but why do you have GSR cams in your type R motor?

my ITR has wiseco forged pistons and they make all kinds of noise until it is warmed up-just part of owning forged....May also have loose valves but that is not normal for them to suddenly loosen.
Other than that, I would do a good visual inspection of the motor-your noise may be something small or it could be something big. You would be surprised what you can determine when you get a bright light and mirror and do a detailed inspection.
My VTX was making all kinds of noise a few days ago and it turned out to be a loose screw on the speedometer. I thought it was going to blow up and turned out to be nothing......

well the noise started just recently. i will check it out and pull the valve cover and do the valves just to make sure. the gsr cams work pretty good under boost. i made 500whp on pump gas so it seems ok.
