NEED HELP - mechanical or ECU problem?
good evening friends
this week I had a problem with my civic. I have a sleeved b16 turbo and the engine detonated. my mechanic says it was failure of the distributor but that night had a new ECU at S300.
what is certain is that the distributor works on other cars.
When The distribuitor fails, the engine can be detonated ?? or is the problem is the ECU map???
I need your help because my engine have only 2000 miles
thanks
sory my english

There really needs to be more background information before any reasonable opinion could be given. 1) Who socketed the ECU, 2) Age of distibutor 3) was the car completely "tuned" before this went or was it a basemap used? 4) who assembled the engine, 5) what are specs of the engine, and what was used....
This could be ANYTHING either mechinical or software/hardware related.

My guess isnt your distributor but rather the "base map" or whatever was loaded onto your S300. If you were to far advanced on your timing that could have cause this, but like Shodan said ALOT more information is needed.

Re: NEED HELP - mechanical or ECU problem?
If you changed ECUs and only made it 10kms, Im guessing that is the problem, especially since you make it sound like it wasn't actually tuned. That what you get for driving on a basemap.
