Need Help with Hondata question......
I've searched couldn't really find out the answer to my question.
I've been driving my car for a while and it has been straight and fine but when I went to get it tuned the blue box all of a sudden stopped working. It shows that the hondata is not connected and the hondata is blinking. Has anyone else every had there box go out.

check the cable, alot of times one wire gets cut or pinched or the place where it plugs in might not have been installed correctly. but if the blue box doesn't get a good connection from the ecu through the cable you won't get anything
down load the installation guide and following the trouble shooting procedures.http://www.hondata.com

sometimes when I shake my blue box (S200b) the red LED will go off and then I shake it again and it will come back on. I got a new cable from Hondata and I have yet to try to fix it
I think it might be with the contacts in the box or the cable, so un plug it and make sure the contacts are fine, etc.
I'll look at mine sometime Sunday afternoon and get back to the post.

Yeah Mase don't I know, it. This was going to be a basic street tune for now, until i can actually make a trip there or when you come here.
I did check the wire using another friends wire, and it worked with there blue box and wire and with my wire also. So I'm thinking it might be the blue box. Since it is a stage hondata, if the connection on J12 is a lil bad will it cause the blue box to not show connected as well. Cause when we hooked up my friends s200 up it worked fine.

I would check the cable, check the connection at the ecu, sinmce you tried different boxes you may have answered your own problem, I have also seen bad chip burns do it but they do it consistently. How is the blue box mounted if it is just banging around in the car that can eventualy give it fits...
I had it mounted under my dash sercured well. Everything was working and has been working well for about a year or so. Then it seem when he went to connect the burner and connections for the laptop it decide to not read it after that.
When it worked with the s200, did you change the ROM, or did you leave the same rom in. If it worked with the s200 and same ROM, then you have a V3 rom and it will not work with the Staged box.
Mine went out a while back. I still haven't sent it back because my car has been down. I tried mine on a friends car (He runs S200 no Boost no tuning features) and it ran in limp, no LED. I used my blue box in that same friends car about 6 months previous and it worked fine. I am sure its the blue box. We switched cables and checked connections.
I will contact them soon anyways since my motor is almost done.

I'm actually running the stage 2b hondata. We didn't change roms at all I don't believe. It is the same one I drove there with. Can you send the box back to hondata for them to fix it?
I would hope you can send it back!! I like my system it is just been so buggy since the beginning. If it acts up on my next motor then its getting the boot.
