NEED HELP WITH DECISION: GSR or LS Block???
Ok, to make a long story short. I have a GSR swapped in my 93 H
goals are 450hp on pump gas, and 600+ on race gas:
Setup:
Full-Race Manifold
Full-Race T4/T67 turbo
3" downpipe and exhaust
Tial 40mm Wastegate
RC Saturated 750cc injectors
Wiseco 81.5mm pistons
Eagle Rods
Type R crank
stock GSR head w/ port & polish
Here is my dilemma:
I am sleeving the block as we speak. My choices are either keep the GSR bottom end and sleeve it with AEBS sleeves or to buy an already done Benson Sleeved 81.5mm LS block for $500 less.
What would you guys do ?

If you went with the LS block you'd need the vtec conversion kit, and new rods if you wanted to use the LS crank. IMHO it makes everything easier to just run the GSR block, the difference is only going to be around 250 dollars once you factor in getting the VTEC head on the LS block, so I'd personally go with the GSR.

I'm LS but you have the choice I wish I'd made, which is to go with the GSR block With LS internals. It's more stroke and better and with the stock GSR oil squirters/girdle.
I am just going with the GSR bottom end.
It is having AEBS sleeves installed as we speak. I will post some dyno number in a few weeks once I have some runs down on race gas.

Oil squirters don't clear the GSR crank.

just go w/ the gsr bottom end since you already have it...you won't need the oil squirters anyway w/ forged pistons

When I tested an LS crank in my GSR block the squirters didn't clear the counterweights.
