SC61 - T3 vs. T4 turbine... estimated power differences?
Can anyone estimate power differences between a Precision SC61 with a T3 turbine vs. a T4 turbine on the same motor?
Base your estimates on the T3 model making about 550whp at 24psi.
Should the T4 be good for another 75hp or so?
(2.0L DOHC VTEC, fully built of course)

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I am curious about this as well. Anyone have any insight?

I would say about 50whp from a T3 .63 A/R to a T4 .68 A/R. In Precision's Catlogues they show the SC61 with T3 Stage 5 wheel rated as 630hp and the T4 P trim wheel 680hp My best guess

I have a GT32-51 and im thinking about going to a SC61 as well... but.. before I do is it worth it? Im building a b16 block right now and want to see around 400whp with either this turbo setup or the sc61. what way should I go?

Well teh GT3251 is rated for 480hp, we all know these turbos are waaay underrated all the Garretts and Precision are. The SC61 starts at 630hp, 650hp and 680hp rated(T4). The GT3251 you have now should be PERFECT for what you have, a B16A being a small motor and you only want 400whp, the SC61 would be overkill IMO. BUT I like to recommend going one step higher because you always get bored with your power level after a while SO if there is any doubt in your mind that you will want 500whp or 600whp later get the SC61 or GT3561S or GT35R!
