Just get a greddy kit. Good for up to 300whp+, spools very quickly and holds a decent top-end. Don't bother building your motor unless you're nearing 280-300whp, and even then you may be fine with stock internals.

GET IT TUNED FIRST.

With proper tuning and installation, you should be fine for a good long time (50k miles maybe?).

Or you could build your own custom turbo kit. Either way properly tuned you don't need a built motor when only running 10 psi...

No offense, but I hate when people say that.

10 psi on a T3/T67 is nothing like 10 psi on a T25.

THERE IS NO WAY TO GAUGE WHAT AN ENGINE CAN HANDLE BY BOOST LEVELS. ONLY BY HORSEPOWER.

Greddy kit is nice, $2899 with Emanage. Intercooler upgrade is $1000.

Don't build your motor, run it stock.

You need more money.. unless you're going to piece your kit together with a junkyard turbo or get used stuff off ebay. Good luck anyway.

Your prices are teh suck. I was referring to a used kit, personally. For 2500, he would probably be able to pull of an intercooled turbo kit + uberdata setup, tuned. It'd be close though.

But with $0 left over when something goes wrong.... yikes. You'd have a civic si with $2500 in parts that doesn't run.

That was my point, not that you couldn't piece together used parts for $2500. Used turbos seem to be hit-and-miss though, I'd be scared to get one.

I see what your saying, but I was looking at his budget and figuring that he probably wouldn't be able to afford a full-race turbo..., but I get what your saying.

not saying that it is any better or any worse but you may want to look into a jrsc the cost about 1000-1500 used and then you can get hondata for 410 hondata, gasket for 60, tune 300 ,rc injectors 440's 200, 255 fuel pump for 100 for a total tops of around 2510. safe and relible not saying that others are not but just an idea?

Do not build your motor if you are not going crazy. Tuning is the key! Lowering the compression means less power unless you up the boost. Keep stock internals and keep the psi at a conservative number.

B16 is torqueless down low so maybe a smaller turbo would be good to compensate for that. Correct me if I am wrong. I would hate to see how low end feels on a b16 with a huge turbo!

I would go with a used kit! Just upgrade ur clutch, tires, get it tuned(hondata) and you should be good to go.

Don't go cheap though, you pay for what you get! You skimp out on the important stuff, might as well kiss your money and motor GOODBYE!

But then again what you paid for the Si and what you will pay for all the stuff to boost the car and accessories to make it run right, OUCH! That is alot of money.

I think anybody who is going for a fast fast fast car, starting with a honda... You are starting on the wrong platform! That is just my .02 cents!

I love Honda's just as much as you do, but you can not hate on cars or say their slow if you can't beat em.

Boost your motor and you will be able to say thair slow.

Be conservative with your boost ideas and turbo more than make up the torque difference on a b16. You can piece together a kit pretty easy actually just be smart about it don't buy a used turbo get a brand new one and buy used everything else manifold, dp, wg, bov etc....... someone is always selling their stuff. 300-350hp is perfect and lowering your compression is fine don't believe the hype get a proper sized turbo for lower compression you can't buy a sc61 w 8.8 compression motor and expect any power below 6000rpm just take a look at factory turbo cars and their turbos although they are meant for extreme realibility they perform very well do a lot of research before you buy anything
