Default need help with check engine light on turbo 2000 honda civic si

I have a 2000 honda civic si with a drag gen 3 turbo kit, it was running fine til i changed the catalytic converter. My check engine light came on. I reset the ecu and everything was fine, but then it came on again. I checked the engine code it was 6slow flashes and 7 fast ones which is secondary O2 sensor so i changed that and it still came on. My mechanic told me i should change my computer from a OBD-2 to a OBD-1 and that will get rid of the check engine light and make my car faster because it doesnt have all extra emission chips, and doesnt need the secondary O2. I was wondering is there any other alternatives than changing my ecu because it is pretty expensive. Please reply.....

well, if the problem happened when you changed your cat, put the stocker back on. Apparently, that's the problem.

My mechanic said that if i change the cat back to stock the check engine light will still be on.... I have a random cat also on my car. does it really effect performance whether the check engine light is on with the code 67?

if you put the stock cat back on, the light won't go away - until he resets the ECU and clears the code of course. Perhaps your mechanic doesnt quite understand Hondas.
