hey nyb16,
i just put it on yesterday. i wasn't getting anywhere until someone told me to use c clip pliers. they are the only way to do it. if you see the two holes at the ends of the c clips. that is where those pliers hook up to. it is still hard so make sure you have a buddy. squeeze with the pliers and try to get them under the lip and have a buddy with a screwdrive on the other side pushing the clip in.
good luck

All the c clip pliers I could find were cheap as a mother truck.

I ended up buying some really narrow needle nose pliers at home depot. I bent them all around with a vice until I had an "HKS SS Bov C clip installation tool". We have installed 2 BOVs with it now, works pretty well

I bent it at a 45 degree angle near the tips, and then I bent in each of the tips so they would 'hook' the holes on the c clip.

the c clip plier i used were already bent at 90 degree angles on the tips. just start squeezing with the pliers and put the plier side under the lip as much as you can remember to keep pressure so that the plier don't slip out (was a problem for me) and then have the friend put the opposite side under the lip with a screwdriver.

I couldn't get mine in. I snapped the C-RING some how? So I zip tied the BOV to the pipe. Hey...it works.
