im doing my first turbo build and im trying to find a good fuel pressure regulator set up. i found the cxracing web site they have a comlete kit all hoses, regulator fittings, and liquid filled gauge for 119. just wondering if these will help or hurt me im shooting for 300 hp if this affects the thoughts on using it. my friend had issues out of his aem fpr that bolted on the fuel, rail leaning out while tuning. he went with the aeromotiveand said it solved his issue. thanks for the help
I have used them before for parts but they were brand name parts. They are a decent distributor. They haven't sold me any knockoffs yet. But like cleansi stated, stay off ebay products. I bought all of my critical turbo pieces from a reputable shop in my city. No issues once you do that.
Also talk to your tuner about the FPR. He might say get one he might say keep it factory. Depends on what he wants.

If the goals are reasonable on the stock engine with no plans to go with big power, stay with the stock unit, even with upgraded injectors for now.

Agreed with Shodan, I personally wanted adjustability and went with B&M mod kit and im running a 50 base pressure and making little over 400whp on that which i believe is about the limit. Ill be upgrading my regulator here soon

Have you had any issues with that B&M kit? I.e. the fuel pressure swinging all over the place.
I never had a problem with my B&M fpr. Had it on two different setups, one with 450's & the other setup with precision 1000's. If i remember right base pressure for both setup was around 50 also with steady flow.
I've never logged fuel pressure on a Dyno before but I've never had a fueling issue with the car with this setup for years. I'll only upgrade when I decide to run more boost and get a walbro 400 along with that
Seems CX Racing has a zero return policy so might watch out for that. I ordered a few parts from them including a turbo when I started my project thinking I was gonna use those parts. After looking over the quality and inquiring to return stuff they flat out refused to even hear of it. So just be aware anything you buy from them is yours.
As for the fuel regulator. I'm not running super high HP but on my setup I noticed when I put the 255 lph fuel pump in my base fuel pressure jumped higher than stock. I would assume because the stock regulator couldn't return the excess fuel to the tank quick enough? Not really 100% sure. However when I tuned the car I just tuned with that new base fuel pressure and it's good to go. Runs like a champ.
