Default n/a cams and forced induction

ok I was reading a back issue of sport compact car with a 300z - with 560 whp - (a lot of work done on it) it was running JUN cams with 265 duration - I thought long duration cams were bad for FI - could I use spoons (256 degrees duration) with a vortech SC and built motor?

Generally not compatible. More to the specs than just the duration numbers tho. overlap/lobe seperation angle could make an "N/A" cam great for FI.

You want a split duration cam for SC. More exhaust lift/duration since you are cramming more air in, but there is no extra method of extracting the spent gases than normal.

Yeah those wouldnt be too great. You want short duration and high lift for FI cams. There are those drag racers running spec b's on the nonvtec cam the whole time.

Hmm I don't know the numbers on those cams Tricia, but I don't think they are too aggressive. But I remember hearing that the BEST cam EVER for turbo'ed B18A/B were the JG 1001 cams.
