My Turbo/Engine Build List-'01BB6
Hey guys, I've made a wish list for my Prelude build.
Just wanted to share it with you and maybe get some opinions and feedback on the parts I've selected.
Looking to make around 350whp
This is a link to a Google Docs hosted web page, nothin shady, THanks!
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...IhF7InPkaE/pub
EDIT: The list updates automatically. I've made the changes discussed so far

Looks good other than the Blackworks springs and map. If you want Skunk2 retainers just get the Skunk2 springs as well and go with the Hondata 4 bar map.

agreed on the map and springs, with the map you could go omni or hondata same thing either way. I went omni I think it was cheaper.
I would also swap the turbo manifold and intercooler. manifold is too large for the turbo selection and the intercooler is on the small side but not too terrible

Thanks guys,
I think I'll go with the Hondata Map, probably a 3bar, Skunk2 Springs, and maybe just a log manifold? I'm not super worried about the intercooler, I'm guessing I'll be running around 15-18psi when said and done to meet my hp goals.
What about axles? I was thinking stock axles would probably hold up at 350whp or so at least for a little whIle but maybe I'm wrong. Anyone have experience?
I was also curious as to anyones tuning stories/setups. I found a '97 Prelude on evans-tuning's website making 350whp / 320tq @ 18psi. In the notes they said adj cam gears really helped turbo spool and the overall power curve. They also said that disabling the secondary butterflies worked best. I think I'm going to get adj gears and follow their experiences, I am likely going to have the car tuned by evans anyway so I'm sure he'll do something similar to what he did with this car. One thing I haven't heard of, which I should probably research, is what people do with the vtec system? Disabled/Enabled/Hi cam engagement rpm?
Thanks again guys

good choice on the manifold that would be just right for your power goals.
PSI is irrelevant as far as intercooler sizing. the intercooler is OK I wouldnt worry about it too much just wouldn't be my first choice. you may want to check go autoworks he has some decent ones for arround the same cost.
axles should be fine B series hold at or above 500HP

Your definitely right, intercooler sizing is more dependant on cfm/airflow and ultimately hp. Not sure why that was my response to the size of the intercooler haha
I do agree it's on the small side though but I kinda like that.

What about the Garrett T3/T04e?
The Prelude I found on evans-tuning was running one and it made 380/320 like I said. The tq and hp curves look really decent, pretty flat overall. I think it's really the right size. It should spool quick and still flow enough cfm's up into redline. I'm looking to make 350 to the wheels like I said so the turbo should be right in sweet spot I think. I'm going to post up some fuel and airflow calculations here soon.
Here's a link to the boosted '97

I say the turbo is very good. there are "newer" and "better" turbos updated wheel designs etc. However they will cost more I dont see anything wrong with that turbo I think its a great turbo

Can anyone recommend a reputable machine shop for the Darton sleeve installation? Trying to get an idea also on what the cost might be, I know it's quite a bit.

I checked out the GoldenEagle website and read about their re-sleeving. They definitely seem to be on top of their game. I emailed for a price quote. Thanks for the reccomendation.
