i like the IC and the BOV facing out. good call. Turbo looks sweet aswell. what the **** is keeping your piping together? it looks like rubber cement or something....
get rid of the carbon fiber hood...it kills the car
Good job none the less...im anti-body kits...

Re: My first Turbo setup (5thgencivic)
holding the piping together are my ground down welds. they just rusted since i havent had time to paint it yet.
blow off valve hasnt had much stuff in it. i clean it everytime i clean the car.

At least put a screen on kit in front of the bov. Thats like riding a motorcycle with a helmet off and your mouth wide open during love bug season.

Re: My first Turbo setup (m3bluegsr)
piping looks just like mine.. hmm, have you seen my setup b4??? hehe.. JK.. it also looks like you used flux core for your welds... should try using Gas and at least L56 wire from lincoln.. the weld will look a bit better and it won't rust as quick if even.. but if you can get it Tigged, more power to ya....
my 1st pipes were fluxed welded, and they looked all chunky and ugly and i had to grind them down too... now i've got tha gas and my new piping looks a little better...
for doing it yourself...

Re: My first Turbo setup (Boost Creep)
ya the mig welder had gas im just not the greatest welder.
the blow off valve im probably gonna turn it sideways its no biggie.
the hood i like it how it is. ne ways i dont have the stock hood so i can spend money on other ish.
yeah the car is setup to make a good amount of hp.
the fmu is only temporary til hondata.

Re: My first Turbo setup (metal-x)
The BOV will NOT suck **** in (if it's set right). Mine is ghetto-cheap and it stays closed at idle. Mine ONLY opens when I let off the gas and it sees high vaccum AND there is boost. At idle, it's closed. If it's not, tighten your spring a little bit.

yeah mine was like that. The first thing i put on was the intercooler. so that was all welded up and in place but no piping and turbo so we called it an interfooler. drove it that for like 3 days
Then i did the piping next. Welded all bends and blow off valve, and all couplers so i drove around with intercooler and piping ( engine struggled a little to get air past the piping and intercooler.)
then finally the 3rd full work day on it. It was finally done.
total time 8hrs for intercooler to be mounted with brackets welded and fitted to frame.
10 hrs for all piping to be made
10 hrs for the rest of the turbo installation. ( oil feed, return, shave block, take off all header parts, mount turbo.)

Hey, that BOV location is pretty sweet!! I'm sure other cars and all those ricers can hear it better when it's there too!

Looks good, don't wait to long for a decent tuning device, use a dyno when you do get the hondata. And you will be happy.

SO, your "ghetto-cheap" BOV is the model of perfection? I think not. If it isn't open at idle, it is lazy and doesn't work well. A sensitive BOV will be open at idle, because the throttle is closed, so there is less pressure in the manifold than in the chargepipe.
I would not have my BOV facing out like that. Besides, someone is going to rip it off in the K-Mart parking lot
