Default My Experience with Endyn

I just wanted to take this open forum to publicly thank Larry and crew (Josh) for their help at the NOPI race this weekend in TX. We drove 1400 miles to Ennis only to have a valve drop on our first burnout on Sat. We pulled the head and thought..there is our new boat anchor and it's gonna be a long drive home. Just then Larry and friends came by our pit to show us his new carbon fiber intake manifold. He looked at the head damage and said I think we can get you running again. BTW, it was already close to 6PM.
We jumped in his car and took off for his shop. When I entered his shop, I was very impressed. There was state of the art cylinder head equipment including flow benches and everything else necessary to make the best flowing cylinder head available. He showed me some of his work with epoxy reshaping of ports. There were clean rooms for assembly but even his work area was cleaner than most guys clean rooms. Remember, this was a surprise visit.
Then I saw the engine dyno! This in a climate controlled room to simulate different altitudes, etc. This dyno is custom built to work with any Honda engine and his plans are to supply ecu's with your engine so you will not even need to tune your new motor. It will go into use as soon as the city finishes with the permits...
Anyway back to my story. We pulled the head down and found all kinds of damage. Before you knew it, the head was on his state of the art seat machine where all the problems were fixed. The head was then taken back to the porting room where Larry did some custom blending. He found some other areas for improvement that he wanted to do but time was at a premium and we had to pass. Then the head was surfaced .002". Larry threw in 16 new valves, a couple of new springs and retainers, new keepers, assembled it, gave us a new Cometic gasket and by now it was close to 11PM. It amazed me that he has all these items in stock and could get our problem fixed so efficiently.
Now for the even better news, we worked thru the night, got the car running and qualified for the race at the last minute. And for the best news, we actually won our first race. IT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT LARRY. My only regret was that Larry was not there on Sunday to share the trophy and glory with us.
So all I have to say to any doubters out there is that LARRY IS THE REAL DEAL. His shop is first class and so is his work. He knows his stuff and is a great person!

He salvaged my buddy Scott's cylinder head too, he downshifted from 3rd to 2nd and the Crower cam broke and messed up the cam caps and some material, everyone though it was a lost hope that beautifully ported head he waited so long for from Endyn, but to our surprise Scott got it back a couple of weeks ago and all is good. Congrats on your win

that name has been dragged threw the dirt by a dog with rabies, pickd up by a girl scout, sold to a old lady who thus gave it to her drug dealer son, who than sold it on ebay to a minster.

As a former Endyne hater, I'm glad everything worked out for you, and it sounds like the guy knows his stuff, esp with all that equipment. I just wish the BS meter would quit going off everytime I hear their company name. I don't know how it could be resolved... mabe an article in SSC? (Just kidding)

I just wish there was a way for them to say "this is experimental" and "this is for sale to you, and this is what works"

Maybe a different marketing approach?

I'll stop the hating from now on, just from your story, it takes a stand-up, hardcore car freak to do that. THAT I can respect.

Thats great news Earl. Congrats on the win. I have seen nothing but good work from Larry personally and have sent my buisness his way, despite what the haters say.

Awesome Earl

This is one of the reasons that I have been pushing Larry's stuff for over 2 years now, regardless of any drama. Glad you had a similar experience. Congrats on your win!

I have to tell you guys, I got that mans' back for life. I only wish I had my camera with me. Here is a pix of super-tuner Ben Strader, Larry and Scott, the BigDog from STR Performance checking out Larry's carbon fiber manifold (BTW, this manifold will fit both the b16 and b18c and weighs next to nothing)

It's good to see that he helped you guys out and obviously CAN do good work.. It's rather a shame other people haven't had the same experience you have..

I've never doubted the man had talent or heart, but for every portion of mind numbng brilliance he possesses there is a portion of smoke and mirrors. I've heard a few good chuckles from some domestic guys about him.

After all the words said , I have been using Endyns products for 2 years and I have never had a problem. Everything did what he said , he has got me out of a jam a couple of times.
I have had 2 heads dones by him , I took one apart and took it to a buddys flow bench to see if it really did anything. ( I doubt everything) I was surprized how well it did, and the valve job was excelent.

I found Larry to be everything he says, Good to hear it from someone else.

Yeah..I have heard so many 'words' said about Larry; some good but mostly bad...but nothing bad has been said about his craftmanship and the quality of his products!

Larry is one of the nicest guys in this sport that I have ever met. I have ordered 3 or 4 sets of pistons and a clutch and a few other things from him... got them in about 2 days. When I went up to Atco when he (Endyn) sponsord the Hotrod class (what was that 2 years ago?) I talked to him and Brian for about 5 hours about everything cars. He knows so much stuff it just boggles my mind.
I am really glad you posted this Earl he deserves the credit.
OBTW we run endyn pistons in my buddies na itr/eg stock ecu stock jdm itr header going 12.0@112 full interior. As soon as I get the money my spare head is going Larry for some work.

Looks now the bangwagon will shift. Everyone will begin to worship Larry again.

I wonder if the people who got ripped off by him will jump on this one. I never did, and I've never dealt with them so I won't say anything. All I know is that with so many stories going one way or the other from so many different people, I think I'll stay away just for safety's sake. Unless Larry ever decides to actually make that Endyn Supercharger that makes any b-series have 400+whp with a bolt-on kit that costs $4500..then I just might have to go Endyn..

I have heard bad things about Larry but it comes down to real life experience most of the time for me. I know people who deal with Larry week in and week out with little to no problems.

Good Work Larry

My head is going off to Larry here soon and I am using his 84mm's for my N/A build up. I won't use anyone else.
