Is my block really sleeved
bought this block off lseghatch which is pictured in this thread here...from what he says is that its sleeved but on my homeys block under the sleeves there the residue of the grease i guess companies put in order for no leaks, and there is none on bottom of my sleeve whice lead my mechanic to think there was no sleeving done to it, I bought it aways back and just noticed last week due to me opening the block and noticing it resembled the same block gaurded block u will see...??? what do u guys think, or do not all companies put that grease stuff on bottom? I might have to send it to golden eagle for further info???? https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1164710

I agree - unfortunately. Everything I have ever worked with that had Javier's fingerprints on it turned out to be junk.
Good luck; its possible he got something as simple as sleeving a block right.

It's pretty much unanimous that JG's only really well done items back in the day were their Heads.
I've never ran their blocks personally - but I could make a book with the horror stories of faulty products and shoddy customer service.
I had an EXTREMELY HARD TIME even getting information from them regarding their products.
Having a phone number listed when you answer it only 1 in 1000 times it rings = useless for the customer.

Re: (spoon20)
If its 85mm its definetly sleeved. And the grease your talking about I have never heard that, most people use some kind of silicone or epoxy (something in that nature) to seal up their sleeves. Unlike Dartons MID that use's o-rings to seal up.

I don't think that I would feel safe running 20 psi on an 85.5mm motor, especially with JG sleeves.

that block gaurd and those half *** oem style sleeves may have twisted the block...im willing to bet the crank is going to bind and its going to blow headgaskets left and right t 20 psi...85.5 mm sucks for headgaskets especially if they didnt step deck the block
