Default d16z6 t3/t04e help

I got a eg hatch with a stock z6 motor, and want to run a t3/t04e 54 trim and a .60 ar housing. This is one of the smaller t04e's and dont want to go too big. I perfer this because I have a friend with a t04e and I love the top end of this turbo compared to my other friends smaller turbo set-ups. So what you guys think about running this? Will it run good for my stock z6 with some good hondata tuning? Help me ou fellas.

If you want a t3/t4 i would recommend the 50 a/r with .48 trim. I pretty sure the one you want might have a little bit of lag on your engine. But if it's all about top end.....go for it.

From what I've seen, most people with t3 super 60's and t3/t04's usually use the .48 housing with the d-series and the .63 with b-series.

Assuming its a stage 1 wheel, buy a crappy used .42/.48 volvo t3 & swap the turbine housing, or buy it seperately. If you're not using the turbo to its full capacity, why put up with lag?

I don't mind the lag I love the top end a lot. So the 60 ar would be too big on the d16? How much different is the .48 ar compared to the .60 ar in top end and stuff? Thanks for the help guys.

i used to run a t3 60 trim then switched to a t3/t4e 50 trim .48 ar. Ive been running this turbo for about 2 months now and everytime really get on it the top end still amazes me! its pretty sick. For a stock D you probably wouldn't want to go any bigger than the 50trim and stick with the 48 exhaust housing.

good luck.

oh yeah... i get full 10 psi at about 4700-4800. the lag isn't too bad at all, you just have to change your style a driving a little.

Thanks evosol that is the info I have been waiting to hear from. I love the big t3/t04e turbo. A friend of mine runs one on an ls motor. More power to the D's!

The thing to remember is that a bigger AR on a b-series gets more power because they flow much better out of their exhaust at higher RPM's than any d-series will. I highly doubt that a .63 ar will be worth it, I'd sacrafice a few HP on top for a much earlier, fatter powerband.
