Re: My b18c5 turbo civic just went bad .... need help (ADVAN JDM)
Do a compression check, sounds like ring lands.
There are many threads out there which have the same symptoms.
Here is just one of them
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=993523
Also when i fried my ringlands it exibited the same problems you are having.
A compression check will help in diagnosing your problem.

it sounds like another victim of the afc hack. You were probably running way too much timing and detonated.

thanks for your input, i figured it was either the gasket or the rings. i'd love to do a compression check right now but its like 3am so thats the first thing on my list of *things to do* tomorrow .....

I same thing happened to me when I fried my ringlands of the ol' single cam. I remember I had oil everywhere when I first opened the hood. I forsee less than perfect compression results.

Re: (TURBO4drTypeR)
yea, i know the box is always bolted down, i have no idea how it came off. i guess im going to start taking my motor apart. i just check my plugs cyl. 1 & 2 are slightly wet (fuel and oil mixture) cyl. 3 was wet (fuel and oil) and cyl 4 was crisp. I know what caused all of this too, the stupid "Jun programed p28" that was running in my car. For the past couple of days i've been trying to get a stock computer. Oh and btw, my car has only been boosted for 4 days.

Re: (ADVAN JDM)
That ECU program probably advanced the timing like crazy while you were under boost. Not the best idea to run an N/A ecu program and drive a turbocharged car very hard.

Re: (D15B7turbo)
Everybody and their mother knows you can't boost with a "Jun" program. Those thing advance the **** out of your timing... and that on top of the hack... Poor c5

Re: (xavenged7x)
Sorry about the motor but i hope you learn and ditch the hack. I mean you got an expesive motor (b18c5) and shitty managment, seriosly look into uberdata hondata or some other form of EMS.
I was so upset when my b16a finally quit, but hey now with some interals and turning up hte boost a bit you'll be alot faster.

people who run the hack without having it professionally tuned are the ones who blow their motors.....I've been running the hack for 4 months or so..7-10 pounds depending on the day ragged out twice redlined..as much as 14 pounds at times..and no problems whatsoever....Infact last night my compression was 210,210,210,215.

it always amazes me when people "do" what they know they shouldnt be doing. eg running a NA ECU with boost.
sorry about your motor man.
fix it right and you wont need to spend more on it.
