The filters were tested on the quality of the filtration, simulated by using a vacuum cleaner and millions of microscopic dirt particles. Yup, K&N's come oiled. The oil is red, that's what the red color is when you get it brand new. After you wash it it will be white before you re-oil it because it's just cotton.

 

ok just wanted to make sure, cause the breather filter came white and a pouch of oil, but the air filter didnt come with the oil but it was red, you can never be too sure

 

anyone know of a filter that doesn't protrude outwards more than 1.5 inches?

same here, but i know those foam filter doesnt filter at all.
well, it's for my beater, and the replacement hks insert is 20 bucks only.

hks dont recommend washing it tho'

both are bad idea, i lost about 2psi of boost because of the screen mesh clamp on's.

 

i know its not good but if you have no room, you know what i mean

I am unable to find one that is thin enough so i think i might be forced to try to build a fiberglass air intake box.

I am running an HKS knockofff, been working good so far!

 

on the Apexi filter, had a K&N, ended up switching it for an APEXi and love it. Awesome filter.

 

I am running a small K&N with custom pipes I put together from spares.

your manifold proly costs about 800 bucks, turbo costs about 600 bucks,

looks like that is all he had room for.

its pretty obvious that the generic vs. HKS isnt much diff.

filter is not just another filter

 

right now we are on the mushroom filter.
