Default MSD vs. Mallory

I will be running a big shot of nitrous (100-125hp). I was originally going to get the MSD 6A and then someone recommended the Mallory Hyfire system, because it was cheaper and delivers more voltage and spark energy. I want to get more opinions on reliablity and any other important factors of each ignition. I did a search and couldn't find any info on the Hyfire.

I'd try to run factory ignition first, had bad luck w/ aftermarket ignitions.

I used the Mallory distributor, Ignition/Coil and Fuel pump back in the day on my '56 Bel-Aire. It was the thing to have for Domestics. As for imports I've heard nothing about them. You'd figure an igntion box that is digital, delivers more spark and is cheaper would be a good buy. You can get more info on http://www.mrgasket.com/mallorymain.html

Later Allen

BTW, viewing that page brought back great memories of the Hays clutch I had in my '56. It was like leg pressing everytime I would push the pedal in. I learned how to speed shift real quick to avoid using the clutch. It makes me laugh everytime I hear some kid say the ACT Xtreme PP feels heavy on his foot, I sure wish I had the Hays 3 prong to show them what a heavy pedal feels like.

Really, you don't think the extra spark will be necessary with such a big shot of nitrous?

Thanks for the link. I have heard of the Mallory too through the domestic guys, but the other day was the first time I heard someone recommend it to me on here.
