You're going to get series of arguments saying to stick to OEM. Others, (like myself) say.."It depends"... 1) On which MSD Cap, box, and blaster coil you have. The older parts do not work as well as most of the OEM. 2) How old and used are your current ignitor, ICM, and cap/rotor are that you currently have. It could be that your current OEM may be worse than a new OEM system. 3) Budget.. This isn't about HORSEPOWER..

This is about the use of the car. Sure, an OEM may work for a few pulls on a 800whp dyno session. But if you're more abusive on the system than just a few dynomometer pulls or a few runs at a drag strip, it may be in your best interest to upgrade, to something a bit more robust than simply "changing dizzys", and gapping plugs to the point of oblivion, rendering them useless after a short period of time.

Should you get what he has? You CAN. But I'd try what you have now, make sure everything is in order before going to purchase that equipment. It may not be the right combination that you need.
