Default Motorola 2.5bar map sensor...

I just got a motorola 2.5 bar map sensor and was wondering if Crome will recognize it without having it retuned?

Never used crome, but I would imagine no re-tune would be needed. However, you will likely need to change the map sensor in the software and burn another chip. GL.

You will need a retune to use the 2.5 bar

Theoretically he should not need a retune if he matches up the map scalars. The likelyhood of this actually working is very unlikely.

The vacuum section is where the 2.5bar is supposed to kick the GM 3bar's ***. The 3bar doesn't report vacuum correctly, where as the Motorola sensor is supposed to work great. You could use boost tools to get a large # of boost columns, then copy/paste them over and it should work fine. For everything above your current sensor's psi, you need to get tuned for. Idealy you'd want to retune the entire map. If ignition was done conservatively, chances are you'll just need a quick street tune to get the old fuel values where you want them.

I should look into this, as I'll probably end up going from the 2.5 to freescale's 3bar and maybe their 4bar if needed.

Theory only works on paper

If you tune a map with a stock map sensor, then just scale it for a bigger map, it will run leaner (at the same PSI, lower than 11.3psi of course).

crome willl recognize it but it will need retune

the columns resolution changes, and requires to me adjusted

I stand corrected (not at all uncommon), good info.
