motor mounts?
i just bought a b18c and b16a trans for my 97 ek hatch and im going to boost...
question is, what kind of motor mounts should i go with?
i looked at hasports mounts... i dont need the bling factor, so something a little less flashy would be prime for me.
id go with honda mounts, but i hear they tear when you boost.
any suggestions would be awesome.
thanks.

Re: motor mounts? (IntegraBoy04)
really, im just being a cry-baby about the $600 price tag...
even though they are one of the best mounts you can get.
anything out there just as good without the name and hefty price?

you can use different fillers to stiffen your mounts, 3m window weld appears to be a popular one to use.
you can run a search on window weld and quite a few things popped

im making a little under 400 whp and they have lasted about two years. just fill in the rubber mount holes with the 3m window weld like mentioned above and let dry for about a day or so. if i could do it over again, i wouldnt have bought the inserts, i would just use the window weld on all my mounts. its cheap and as long as you take your time, it turns out alright.

Re: (ROK801)
i heard the company called inovative mounts is starting to make some really nice products. I'm pretty positive that passwordjdm sells them.
but when in doubt, get the hasports and just paint em black

That's nowhere near $600 dude. Just spend the money and do it right the first time....you gotta pay to play, don't half-*** ****...then you just gotta spend more money in the long run to fix the stuff you cheaped out on in the beginning.

im not half assing anything.
that was the whole reason for this post.
i was just trying to find something as good as hasport for a little less cost.
if i end up having to get hasport, ill get them.
i was going to do the filled mounts, but that just looks cheesy.
id rather have the bling...

Re: (wantboost)
Just go to Pepboys and buy inserts. They are $19.99 and are actually really awesome for the price tag. I would have thought they'd be crappy for only 20 bucks, but they're sweet. They've been working just fine so far at 400 for over a year for me.
