Default Motor Mount Question on HighWHP??

I want to see how many motor mounts you guys are running on your HighWHP honda's. I have a 1992 Acura integra with a Full-Race t4 top mount kit and 3inch DP. It is a 2 peice DP. The DP dumps right down onto the front motor mount. and i cant bolt the 2nd part on. I am running full-race traction bars. Now the DA's have 4 mounts. The 2 side mounts and a front and back mounts. There isnt really any room on the car to run the DP different. I have had a few people say get rid of the front mount, but will this cause any traction problems? Or motor torque to much. I will be running either hasport mounts or Innovative Mounts. How many mounts are you guys running?

I would think that if you are running a very stiff rear you should be okay. I just made a solid braket on my H22 since my DP also wouldnt allow for a front mount, and I also have poly inserts in the rear. SO I would say to get the stiffest rear that is avalible.

I too have this same question. I know the ef chassis doesnt use the front mount but lets say I used the innovative mount kit in the 85A race only mounts. Would that be stiff enough to be able to completely not use the front mount. Innovative only makes the 3 main mounts and not the front mount for a DA. I dont know how stiff those mounts actually are, but lets say I have 400ish hp, would those mounts or hasport mounts be able to hold the motor without it torqueing too bad?

Lets see those pic.. If i got rid of the mount i would have to cut the traction bars... that is the onlyn shitty part..

Why not just have a new downpipe made?

same deal w/ my Accord. gotta get rid of the front mount w/ most turbo setups, so I got solid rear and side mounts.

From the looks of that pic, if you kept the front mount you would have a funky looking downpipe. If you were able to get rid of the front mount you could just run a normal downpipe or even upgrade to a 4" if you were making enough power. But If you are making that much power would you still be able to do away with the front mount on a DA when using some innovative mounts?????

Is the traction a big problem removing the mount or do the solid rear mount and sides eliminate the need of a front mount.?

g,g,g,g gunot

i would just run a solid rear mount. that should eiminate any motor movement and eliminate the need for the from mount

I am having the same kind of problem your having with that front motor mount
maybe you can fabricate a front motor mount like the full-race traction pro am traction bars. with the heim joints and all..

Im not making tons of power.. But i do have stiff mounts.

Using 3 mounts, the rear i basically took some 1/8" plate, and cut a circle with a hole in the middle, and welded it on my rear, so its basically a solid rear mount, I could have done the same to the tranny/drivers, but instead i filled them with urathane.

My engine is very stiff, all my **** vibartes like crazy.

doesnt seem to be much of a problem with the Accord guys w/ solid rear and side mounts but there arent too many of them making HIGH hp..

As long as you have a very very stiff and strong rear mount you should be ok. The front and the back have a lot of strain on them!

In eg/ek/dc they utilize the torque mounts instead of just one front mount right? Ive seen many high horsepower egekdc cars get away with no torque mounts and using just like hasport mounts. This should be the same principle right?
