I would get the Haltech, cause it is a very easy unit to programm it on the laptop and you can control *** big injectors too. Not to mention that it has injector staging option too. IMO it has enough features to play with. There are too much you won´t need all of the features. And it is half the price than the Motec. The Haltech use a 16Bit Motorola chip while the Motec use a 32 bit. 16bit are fast enough for me

Is Motec self learning? If Motec is so much better, how come so many of the 9second cars I read about are using speedpro..not doubting you, just curious as to why it's better...

maybe it's for the same reason that 8 second cars are using motec?

correct me if i'm wrong, but motec has useful features such as traction control (speed-based rev limiting) that are just not available with a speed-pro setup...

What is your horsepower target and expected engine injector configuration?

people chose speed pro basically because of the price. the speed pro is probably the cheapest system out there that comes with a wideband and it also happens to be the easiest to use.

motec has a lot of cool features that sp just can't touch. like traction control, anti lag, full throttle upshift, better processor. but its also hard to tune if you're not familiar with engine management.

this is probably due to tuning error, but i've seen race cars with motec that couldn't hold a decent idle without stalling, so the best injector drivers arent going to do you any good if you cant make good use of it.

i got my speed pro for less than $1700 brand new
motec is +$3000

thats why people would choose speed pro over motec

It seems that the Speedpro sequential system goes for 2600 and a motec M48 with datalogging will go for about 3000-3300. Doesn't seem 2 bad considering a tilton clutch goes for 3800

Right now, only about350- 400 but in the future a lot more, so i want a system that will be able to handle that especially if I want to upgrade to menthanol. 1000CC injectors to 1600CC injectors.

for the price you can beat the speed pro or the haltech. But if you oging allout building the ultimate car i would choose the motec unit. theres no comparison on all the nice features that it can run. Look at bob norwood he is master at setting this system up. He does so many kewl things with it that it is unbeliavable. 1000hp out of 4cyl and stuff its just crzy.
