All out? With eagles?
Are those the only option for the H blocks?

Naw man lol not with Eagles. I got a block being built by Reid over at KS Tunned for a 1000whp Going with Manly rods this time around

ok after 5000km at 14psi with mahles i did a compression test and i have low numbers 180 160 150 175 and i have a lot oil from pcv system i think the pistons are gone with the cylinders

That sounds not fun. so, whats recommended for a long lasting engine? drop in std size pistons and run? Can this be done successfully on a previously used frm block in ok shape? or is that ghetto and always always bore/hone to the next size for the correct p2w?

the171 and TracerAcer...

Take the block to your machine shop first to see if the bores are round and EXACTLY what size they are. If you have the equipment to measure this yourself, then do so. If the bores turn out to be round, and they are standard sized with less than three ten-thousandths over standard bore spec, then consider ordering stock sized Mahle's. If you order them, measure the pistons and see if you in fact have the proper skirt-to-wall clearance. If you get the desired spec, then use them. If it is still too tight, then over-bore the block to reach the clearance you need. If it is too loose, you must order an over sized Mahle piston set and then bore/hone to the desired clearance.

I have always chosen to bore/hone to a larger piston so that I get exactly the piston-to-wall clearance I want for the application.

hi guys ,can a p2w clearence of 0.05 mm (0.0018) cause a piston slap at cold start under load, and do some scratch on the wall?(after only 1000 miles)

I would think so... seems a bit tight... I do not know what Mahle gold series likes there piston to wall spec.. forged pistons/sleeves think you want to be about 4.5k to 5k or so depending on power you want FAR AS BOOST GOES

the mahle specs for this piston is 0.006 to max 0.0014 p2w clearance for na application

marco1985, that sounds too tight. I know the specs suggested by Mahle for a 81mm bore is .0016-.0024", and your 87mm bore size pistons would require even greater clearance. Too tight will scuff the skirts. Once the skirts are damaged, it is likely that the pistons will be noisy... especially at cold start up.

thank you for your answers jrcivic
but if you see this piston data sheet:

http://www.us.mahle.com/media/motors...14appguide.pdf

at number 16 page you can see that my piston2w clearence according to mahle is 0.0006 to 0.0014 for na application.. (87.1 x 12.5 comp)
how is this possible?

The page you have referenced marco1985 is for S2000 pistons, so I am going to assume that this is your application.

This is a guideline only. The chart cannot take into account intended use and fuel choice. The piston set comes with instructions. I am quoting this from them:

"PISTON TO WALL CLEARANCE: These pistons are made from a low expansion alloy which allows for tighter piston to wall clearance. We recommend you prepare the bore to exactly the piston size requested because the proper clearance is built into each piston for normal operation (.0015-.002"). Severe duty applications such as drag race, nitrous, forced induction, filled blocks or endurance racing may require an additional .001-.003" clearance. Just remember that a little loose is always better than a little tight in most extreme performance applications."

This should have been discussed with your machine shop and knowing your intended use would dictate the proper skirt to wall clearance. Also, Mahle measures their piston size at the bottom of the skirt, unlike most piston companies who measure .4-.5" above the bottom of the skirt. Since pistons are tapered, measuring in the wrong location would result in small bores being created for the pistons, ultimately leading to skirt scuff/damage.
