Default Missing link / Check valves necessary with low boost?

I'm about 80% done with installing a custom turbo kit on my 94 Integra LS. When I was installing the Missing Link, I dropped it and the springs/check valve flew out of it. Obviously I can't use this anymore.. so I'm wondering, is it absolutely necessary for a MAP bypass when i'm only boosting 6.5 pounds? If it IS.. does anyone have decent instructions for building your own bypass out of hose/check valves until I can get ahold of another missing link?

thanks!

just go to napa and get a few check valves until you get a new missing link.
