Default missing link

is it really needed for a turbo set up? and what is its purpose?

depends on what you want to run if your going to run hondata, uberdata, emanage or afc hack no. If your running a fmu or just running afc on stock injectors then yes you will need it. Missing link is to release pressure before the map sensor can see it. If your map sensor sees boost it will pop a code and your car will run like poo

does the missing link bolt on the map sensor? or the tps sensor?

map sensor. its a valve that stops the map sensor from ever seeing boost. used on stock ecu's that freak out when they see positive manifold pressure and trigger a CEL.
