mild ls block build?
Noob here <------ hahaha... can't find what I need in the search, so I'll ask it.
I eventually would like to send my LS block off to AEBS to have it sleeved and decked. I got a quote from my shop (and AEBS) for about 3g's, and that will include the rods and pistons etc. to run upwards of 30 psi.
Well, I got to thinking, I'm not gonna build a race car here. So what if I just threw some good rods, low comp. pistons, and maybe a block guard in there, and turned the boost up to like 15 psi? My shop guy was like.... well, just get the AEBS stuff.
So guys, my question:
What is your all experience with reliability on an LS block with good rods (eagle etc.) and some 8.5:1 or so JE pistons (etc.) with like a NuFormz block guard and around 15 psi? Pretty good for a daily driver? I know this should be good for about 300 hp. Like I said, I don't need a 500 hp race car, so AEBS may be overkill. But I would like a faster daily driver. Hit me up with some opinions.

The upper limits of the stock block is roughly 300whp, and that's with a bone stock block. Most will say the stock sleeves are good up to 400-450whp.
Depending on where you want to go with the car, if it will just be your daily diver on 15psi, you will be fine with some forged internals.
EDIT: you can't find what you need in the search?? mans theres so much info on this subject I could read non-stop for days

This pretty much sums it up for you. I mean i put together turbo kit for my teg without posting a single post. Hit the search and you will find tons of usefull information on the subject. Happy boostin'

I just couldn't quite nail down what I needed with the search. I was kinda expecting someone to pop up and say, hey dood, I only spend a grand for forged stuff, it's waaaay cheaper... or hey man, get the AEBS, cause you'll spend the money anyway. But I'm satisfied with what you guys have provided. Thank you.
