I am not aware of it's tuning capabilities, however I am waiting for them to pre fab the wiring harness for Honda before I dive into the Microtech units.. However the hand held unit seems to make things a lot quicker than burning chips..

The timin gaccuracy of these units isn't the best. Timing will wander a bit at high rpms. If you do run one, keep the timing conservative!

I've never tuned one, I only know about them from talking to motec about them. We took one off of Easy Street's car when we installed the Motec. They're cheap, and i'm sure they work decent for the money. I know there's not much to tuning them from what i've heard.

tony,

so you have never tuned one let alone done anything with them but you come on here saying there timing has problems?? well nothing is further from the truth, microtech are one of THE ONLY ecu's to have stable timing in the top end of the rpm scale, its funny how the fastest cars in the world all use microtech and dont have any problems and thats with all types of motors from rotors to wrx motors.

do you think motec is going to say anything good about them?? of course not, microtech have a more than 70% market share in the street car game here in australia motec would have 2% if they are lucky.

Coming from the RX7 community, they are definitely one of the preferred units. I do not know if there are any issues with vtec, but I don't have it anyway. They are a quality unit and priced well.

Well, i'm going by what i've been told by a person who's word I respect very much. It has been tested with a scope, they don't lie. As for the fastest cars in the world using microtech, maybe in your part of the world, but not here. I know a few people in Australia that are very respected and they do run Microtech. However, the exact reason they told me they run it is because it's easy to use and tune, and they don't know how to tune motec. Not a bad reason for a street car, but that damn sure doesn't make it a better unit than a motec! Motec is very advanced, almost too advanced for a basic street car, so I can completely understand the majority of street cars there having microtech. Again, doesn't make it a better computer than motec. Motec is the way to go for a race car...

he may be a newbie to these boards, but 10sec_rx7 is a very well known and respected Microtech dealer and tuner here in Australia and definitely knows his stuff when it comes to not only Microtech, but most aussie made ECU's.

well guys i dont think there is a better unit than motec but for a street car and much more affordable and i here there lot easier to tune the microtech seems to be a great computer but i have the motec all ready and im not replacing it or selling it
its the most advance unit on the market imo but for a good street stand alone and easy to tune the microtech seems the way to go and if anyone know computers or fab work its tony1 he is very very knoledgable to most all systems and he even works with the father of standalone bob norwood he knows motec and stands behind them 100% and from what you guys and all of us has seen he has the knowledge to tune the motec or just about anuy computer on any thing ive seen so much go threw his shop its rediculous but any ways i give tony1
bob norwood
motech
microtech
im a dealer for microtech and im still new to the systems so ive seen and heard ups and downs
