ii think the 30 degrees was his base timing.

what we want to know is what is the ign timing you have on your WOT.

with 91-93 octane, whats your IAT? did you do plug readings on the other cylinders after the BOOM?

you should only be hitting 300hp or so with 93 octane. 400 is a bit pushing it.

That sucks dude. Its too bad that there is a no-fault policy for tuners when at times, not that this is definitively one of those times, it IS their fault.

Don't waste your time and money flow testing the injectors, if that were the cause, you would have only one piston damaged. If by some miracle all 4 injectors were not flowing properly, then the tuner obviously would have noticed improper AFR...

...and by the way, don't be scared to say who tuned the car. There is nothing wrong with saying who tuned the car, whether or not he is the cause of the failure. It would be wrong to say "so and so" blew my motor, yes, but until you are certain of that, there is no harm in saying who did the work for you... You did after all pay him for a service.

Just think, right now there could be a person getting his pride and joy tuned by this same person tomorrow, he may have seen this thread, and won't be informed of a possible issue with the guy. Look at it this way, you would want to be informed wouldn't you?

plus there is a ton more reasons why it could have detonated NOT being the "tuners fault" (well he should have noticed before he proceeded.)

what did the batt voltage look like when it melted down? what fuel pump is on the car?what injectors? what was the coolent temp? what was the total timing at the boost level u were runnning? was the any comps tables active when it melted down?

was the motor syned with the ECU? is there a stock distributer on this car? what ecu? i think i heard neptune?

there is soooooo many things that could have happened here....

[quote=I CRX I;41688068]it may have been 30* at MBT, not base timing.[/quote

A MBT of 30 deg on pump gas @1 bar, would do very quickly what it did in those pic

AFR dont mean **** if there is too much timing, throw in as much fuel as you want ull still end up with ur motor at the end of the day
