Default Mechanical o2 simulator....

The basic concept is to move the secondary o2 sensor further back(as in further out) and restrict how much exhaust it see's.... There for causing it to *believe* there is a cat.

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/ind...lator

Thats the link explaining in a little more detail w/pics...

"Here's how it to do it:

1) Buy a set of 18mm Spark Plug Anti Foul Adaptors from the autoparts store. I got my from Schucks/Kragen/Checker and it came in a pair in the little red "Help" packages. These things are designed for cars that are burning oil and fouling it's plugs.

2) Drill out the small hole of one of the plugs to 1/2" diameter. This will allow the O2 sensor to screw into the plug while a tiny bit of room surrounding the sensor.

3) Screw either 1 or both adaptors together into the 2nd O2 bug on the cat back. Carefully screw the O2 sensor in. Don't overtighten since the adaptors are now pretty thin walled due to the 1/2" drilling.

4) Reset ECU by pulling the 2 ECU fuses in the fuse box under the hood (20amp and 15amp). "

Has anyone tried this on a civic yet?....Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

sounds like it would work, i don't know why they call it simulator.. simulators simulate the voltage signal so ecu wouldn't throw cel. if you're obd1, you only need 1 sensor.

I seen this on another fourm before, its supposed to work fine from what I hear..I never tried it myself though..I did however have a godspeed downpipe on my old subie wrx which had something a little similar....All it had was a 3 inch piece of solid steel pipe with 3 1/8" holes drilled through the center of it...The o2 sensor then screwed onto the pipe to only allow the sensor to see a certian amount of airflow....Kinda like what a missing link does for a map sensor...Just tricks it into thinking everything is running a okay..

I used to just take the sensor out and hose clamp it to the outside of the exhaust, and plug the hole. Worked fine. This was before everyone converted to obd1 and before o2 sims. came around...

Yea, but when it comes time to pass emissions... Its easier to have it already setup rather than place a 3 inch cat in...
