Default Mechanical Or Electronic Gauges??

Which do you recommend?? What is the benefit of either. Ive heard that if you run a mechanical boost gauge, you hve to run a vaccuum line into the car? So which do you guys prefer?

i have all elect except boost becuase i couldnt see spending the extra money on it , reguardless you gonna run some sort of vac line wont you ?
i just wouldnt do it with fluid tranfer, ie, fuel , oil pressure, etc.

Yes, you would-- but w/ an electric, you don't have to run the vac line into the car, correct?

you shouldnt , but i dont see the issue with a vac line . i put mine in some wire loom just to make sure it didnt get fucked up thru the firewall and routed it nice under the dash , mine came out clean and nice , im very particular how i route things. esp soemthing that can get damaged.
But yes the elec bost gauge , prob has like an elec sending unit of some sort, where it will get a vac line into it and thne change the signal from Mech to elec and send it into the cockpit via 2 wires, or 1 wire.
boost isnt as crucuail with the elec vs mech situation . imo at least.

thats what im thinking, dont want something to spring a leak and get inside all over the dash and never be able to clean it all out.

I have mechanical for boost and electric for oil pressure and temp, fuel pressure and egt. Honestly I like the response of mechanical better and I think it's less hassle (wiring) using mech over electrical. I wouldn't worry about leaking. The lines use compression fittings.
