mbc or ebc?
manual boost controler or electronic boost controler? i was planning on getting the greddy profec b spec 2 but the price is way up there, as compare to a manual one. is the greddy one as relaible in terms of performance? (boost lag, leak or creep) worth it? i hear hallman mbc are pretty good so that might be my second choice.

I like MBC's due to the simplicity and the fact there is less that can go wrong. I've been using my Turbo XS Dual-Stage HP for almost a year now with nothing but great things to say.
Low and high boost settings, adjusted by the flip of a switch from inside the car.

Isnt the dual stage manual like 225 or something right? prices are pretty close to a electronic one

You haven't listed what's important.
Yes, the EBC is more expensive, but offers this:
1.) Better spooling (couple hundred rpm)
2.) Easy boost changing
3.) High/low boost switch (usually)
4.) Electronic read out of the boost (no boost gauge needed)
Make up your own mind if it's worth it

You can buy my profec B. High/low boost setting. This thing worked like a charm.

But back on topic, I do indeed prefer electronic

Agreed.. sole reason why i picked up a profec B-II for my turbo install.

Re: mbc or ebc? (adseguy)
There's a few things being left out here, IMO.
Manual Boost Controllers have the advantage of being simplistic yes but I have yet to hear of one that doesn't cause some sort of boost spike which is no good. Not to mention that if you want to change boost levels you have to turn a **** and guess what your boosting at unless you have a gauge in view. Even with the dual/quad stage mbc's you still have to get out and adjust anytime you want to change boost levels of the two settings, it's still a pain.
Where as, with an EBC you get the benefits mentioned above:
1.) Better spooling (couple hundred rpm)
2.) Easy boost changing
3.) High/low boost switch (usually)
4.) Electronic read out of the boost (no boost gauge needed)
5.) Overboost/Spike Protection which is worth the extra cost for me
This is what I have, it's simple, affordable and very functional. Not to mention it fits in a typical gauge bezel.

Very true.....that feature has possibly saved my motor a few times due to boost creep

My $40 joe p. mbc doesn't cause any boost spike. Holds steady at 10psi all the way.
I'm not 100% certain, but didn't that boost gauge/controller just come out a week or two ago? I'd give it a little time to see if any problems arise.
