material for DP

Default material for DP



which is better to use:

stainless steel

mild steel

galvanized

thats in order from most expensive to least. money is a factor. is mild steel or galvanized ok to use?

SS would be ideal. Mild steel should be coated. Do NOT use galvanized steel.

MS, cheaper, just paint it so it don't rust

stainless isn't much more expensive if you look around.

i'm going to use aluminumized tubing for my exhaust;

I prefer not to paint it or take the big bar code sticker off, it gives your downpipe more character... my downpipe also likes to drink beer.

so mild steel would work ok but will just rust easier? ill see how much more they charge for SS

spend the extra cash on ss and dont break ur head, once something is done ull never have to think about it again

It works really well. It smells like *** for the first little bit, but I had a mild steel downpipe that was over 4 yrs old and didn't have one spec of rust. Rustoleum Grill Paint!
