I am in need of a boost controller, and I can't decide whether to go for a simple grainger valve setup or get a used Greddy Profec B boost controller. Is an electronic boost controller worth it? I can get it for $220 used.
I used to enjoy watching my car boost spike to 18 psi on my mbc last year
It was even cooler seeing the huge white cloud of smoke i left in morning rush hour when I was boosting in 5th and i had another boost spike and cylinder #4 split 4 inches down into the bore

never had any spikes with my hallman mbc but i guess the convenience of an ebc is being able to preset boost levels as well as make adjustments without having to pull over and touch a burning hot piece of metal slightly and then go off boosting again to check the boost. if your constantly changing boost level then the ebc would be ideal. but for just turning up the boost and leaving it at a set level a good mbc should be fine (and cheaper)
